Last year we made a commitment to our breeding program and aggressively sought and added powerful, unique females of all ages. You can't imagine how elated we were driving home from the sale Circle J Sale last November with the heifers we had purchased! We felt the top females in the sale were in our trailer. Our talk raced along about future matings, their calves, and their impact on our program. After driving less than a 100 miles,  we decided to give the heifers a little exposure. The day of their purchase, we entered Call Me Darlin' & Sophia Loren in the "Cream of the Crop Next Generation Heifer Futurity". The Cream of the Crop III Sale was hosted by Don & Marie Wilson, Cotton & Davis Beefmaster, Harrod Farms. & their guest consigners in Sulphur Springs, TX, on December 10th. Entries were limited to 25 of the best heifers, under 16 months, that the Beefmaster breed had to offer.

Four heifers were called back for final review in the winner take all futurity, and both of the Wild Oaks Farms heifers made the cut! After using the 10 month old brindled "Call Me Darlin" heifer for Grand Champion, Judge Jim Williams went on to state if he had to chose a reserve heifer it would be the black CJ heifer (Sophia Loren). He went on to say that whoever has the CJ brand was, they were having a really good day! We couldn't have been more proud to represent the quality of the Circle J's breeding program. It may have been our special hour, but the day certainly belonged to Jimmy Bradley and Circle J. We don't mind giving Jimmy  the glory, because we're  keeping the $10,000.00 check for Grand Champion, and the Heifers!
